Hi, I am RH - & Pregnant with my second baby. During my first pregnancy I had a car accident and after a blood test they found I have an antibody in my blood called Antibody M. They said they had no more information on it and it won't affect my first pregnancy but will the second. I am only about 5 weeks pregnant and was wondering if anyone else has had the same? Alot of you have said you've had a rough time during the second pregnancy, can you please give me some more details. Thanks, Kirsty.

hi all i dont know if any of you can help any more than you have just reading your storys has given me a clearer view. see when i was 18 (im 23 now) i was pregnant i was in a new relationship and even through i have always wanted children more than anything i knew we both wasnt ready and i had an abortion. now 5 years on im still with the same man and we want to start a family now that we are older. however we have been trying now for 8 months and still no baby. what has me worried through is my period is always late making me get my hopes up each time and im suffer very bad cramps worse that what im used to. my blood type is o rh negative and i dont remember anyone ever saying i needed a shot after the abortion. so now im really worried that i may have destroyed the only chance il ever have at having kids. :-( does anyone know if the shot will still help after that amount of time or has anyone been through the same thing as me just so i can hang on to some kind of hope.
thanks

Hi, I wrote before about the Antibody M, i'm replying to the lady who is having trouble with falling pregnant after the abortion. I ended up having a miscarriage at 9 weeks. They gave me an antibody shot before I even miscarriaged. I keep hearing that you need a shot when you miscarriage or an abortion, so maybe you should go to the doctors and talk to them about it. It might help your chances with falling again. :-)

I am 0 neg and had 4 very easy pregnancies except for delivering after my due date. I found out I was Rh neg with my first pregnancy, my daughter is 0 +, second daughter is 0 -, my third (a son) is 0 -, and my last daughter is 0 +. I was given the shot after each pregnancy. To my knowledge, my cousin and I are the only family members that have the Rh neg factor.

My cousin had 4 children, without having the shot for each pregnancy. I have no knowledge of the last 3 pregnancies, her first was problem free. My cousin passed away at age 40 due to Lupus, she had had a kidney transplant. My question is could she have been more prone to developing Lupus due to the circumstances of her Rh factor and never having the RhoGam shot?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

TO ALL THE WOMEN WHO HAVE AND HAVE HAD SUCH COMPLICATIONS DUE TO THIS BLOOD FACTOR, YOU ALL HAVE MY DEEPEST SYMPATHIES.

I was pregnant once and had a miscarriage 2 months in and then got pregnant a second time and also had a miscarriage 4 months along. After the second one, the doctor told me I was RH- and that it would be very hard for me to carry on a full pregnancy. They then gave me a Rhogam shot and said it will help me with future pregnancies if i get the shot every 6 months. So according to the doctor, the Rhogam shot will lessen the chances of complications and possible miscarriages during pregnancies :-D

hi, I am 22 years old. I first found out i was O neg at the age of 17. my first pregnancy at 16 ended in early labour and the loss of my first daughter. when i was 17 i got pregnant with my son who is now almost 4. i recived the rohgram shot after 27 weeks, my son was born at 37 weeks. he is A- blood type and had the second shot within 24 hours of birth. With my second pregnacy there were no complications, i did recieve the rohgram shot as a precaution after 27 weeks. she was born full term and is A- blood type. the father of my first 3 has O neg blood type, same as me.
I am now in a new more serious relationship :: my childrens father is still very active in their lives :: My current bf and me have been together for years. We have been off again on again trying to have a baby together, he is A+ blood type. we have had 9 miscarrages ranging from 13 weeks down to 4 or 5 weeks. the first miscarrage i found two sacks discharged 1 day apart, i was about 7 weeks. our second miscarrage i was just over 13 weeks when it happened which resulted in having to have surg. I recived the roh gram shot at that time. since we have had 5 miscarriges and i am currently about 5 weeks preg. Im terrified that i might lose this one too. its like i want to cross my legs and begg for it to stick this time. I want more than anything to make this wonderfull loving man, biologicaly a father. He is amzing with my kids and i want so badly to have his child. I just feel so deeply that getting the roh gram injection in early pregnancy would be ideal. i fear that i will never be able to carry to 27 weeks+ and if i do then whats my baby going to have to go through? im so scared of losing this pregnancy. i just wish i could know more and that my drs would listen to me, maybe it would help, but all they ever say is theres nothing we can do. would fertility treatments help? some sort of natural herbal meds? some way some how some diet? or some yoga pose? anything. Im feeling prety lost right now, like every day im anxious, checking, making sure.

I am AB negative and have 3 healthy children who are in their late teens now. During each pregnancy I had the Rogan shot and again within 24 hours after giving birth. Each time you miscarry it is very important that this shot be given and your doctor should be aware of this. I have had a few miscarriages but that is all a part of nature. Not every pregnancy is successful. I wish you all the best.

hi im a RH  Neg mum myself i have never had any complications with my babies i have 5 kids and having my 6th in early November.  If you have the needle and do the follow up injections that are required then all will be fine.  Well it has been for me goodluck to all the rh neg mums we are rare 15% of the population have this blood type. :-)

I received the shot a few days ago.  I miscarried a few months ago and unfortunately I have just miscarried again.  The midwife told me that I would need to have the shot as I am O negative and it would protect my next pregnancy.  She said that normally these shots of Anti D are given at 28 weeks of pregnancy but not before 12 weeks.  These shots are only given to woman who are rhesus negative at this stage of pregnancy, or after giving birth if the baby is rhesus positive to protect the next pregnancy.  They can also be given earlier in pregnancy if there is any bleeding or after a miscarriage to protect the next pregnancy.  Although I have just been given one, I have not bled yet, and if i need to go in to theatre to have the pregnancy tissue removed i would need another shot as I have bled again and there would have been risk of mine and the babies blood mixing.  i hope this helps.
