The LEAST safe period to have sex would be 5 days before you ovulate, and 3 days after.. The egg can only live for about 48 hours, so it is important to wait a few days after ovulation.

I believe you can have safe sex anytime of the monnth as long as you use common sense. Condoms, lube and communication...you can't go wrong with those 3!
