Hello, guys. My child is suffering from severe ear infection. I took him to the doctor and he gave us antibiotics. However, since my child is constantly complaining about the pain, I wonder whether I should give him aspirin to relieve this pain. What do you think? Thank you for replying.

Hello to you too. You mustn’t give your kid aspirin at all. Kids must not take aspirin because of Reye’s syndrome. This syndrome is related to liver and its degeneration. It doesn’t have some specific symptoms. It manifests like any other viral infection. There are: diarrhea, vomiting, fatigue, etc. This syndrome can be lethal. Instead of aspirin, you should consider acetaminophen derivates. Tylenol is one of them. In any case, consult a pediatrician first. I hope your kid will be all right.
