Hi Kelly!
When I visited my GN, they realized the Mirena wasn't placed in correctly and was coming out. I automatically opted to have it removed!
After the removal, I have seen a tremendous change in mood. I rarely have the anxiety attacks, I'm not as irritable, I don't shake like a nervous wreck, and am not feeling frequent moments of depression. I am still taking the medicines for the above side effects. At first, the meds weren't working. It seemed as if my body was against the meds and I was constantly experiencing more side effects from it. I've see a psychiatrist & therapist on a bi-weekly basis to ensure my health is on the right course.
I also went to another GN outside of my normal GN's practice for a 2nd opinion as far as possible reports of scarring, damage to my uterus, etc. I'm thankful the results came back positive, but am even more thankful to have gotten the mirena removed.
