I haven't had to undergo the same type of surgery you had to undergo.
But,I have experienced extreme pain.
And,from what you've described.....sounds like your in extreme pain, and that's why the pain medicine isn't working very well for you. It's nothing to do with your pain tolerance....it's the extreme level of pain your in.That's why the ENT told you to take 2 hydrocodone, and keep in mind also....each hydrocodone has the same ingredient as Tylenol...500mg's of acetaminophen, and the 7.5mg's is the amount of hydrocodone. So,when the ENT told you to take 2..you were take 1,000mg's of acetaminophen(tylenol),and 15mg's of hydrocodone.Which isn't a very high dosage for someone who's experiencing such extreme pain like you.
I suggest you speak with your doctor today(as planned),and make sure that you stress the fact that your still suffering extreme pain, and also mention the fact that your not able to sleep due to the extreme pain.Your doctor should, and you should insist on a stronger pain medication until you start healing, and the pain is more tolerable.Keep in mind also...everyone experiences pain differently, and same goes for surgery.Everyone experiences pain differently.
Hope this helps.Feel better soon.
Take care.
