hi, im 25. Last week after having sex with my boyfriend I noticed a pee sized bump along the side of my clitoris. 4 days later I noticed it grew in size to about a marble size; it wasnt painful so ignored it for the time. Within the next couple days I woke up with unbearable pain. I tried doing some research online & assumed it was a bartholin cyst. I went to work (which usually takes me 15 & it took me about 30 mins) the pain was so bad that I felt sick like I was gonna puke. I went home & called an ambulance. At the hospital the dr told me it was a bartholin cyst & was going to lance it. They gave me antibiotics & Tylenol 3 & came back an hour later telling me that they went to do some research, since the cyst was too high up to be a bartholin cyst. They called a gynecologist & told me they think it was a skenes cyst & that they werent gonna do surgery after all since it could cause more problems. They referred me to the gynecologist & I went home taking my antibiotics & Tylenol 3's. I put a warm wash cloth over it & soaked in a warm tub when the pain was bad. Hoping it would pop on its own. Which it did a day later. The warm wash cloth sometime felt irritating, so I put an ice cube in the cloth & gently held it there within mins..it must of popped on its own. I smelled a fowl smell followed by a pus colored discharge for a couple hours. A week later I went to my gynecologist appointment & they checked it to see how it was & that was it. The pain has been getting better each day & I havent had problem since. Think its crazy how much little info the doctors & internet have on this issue. Ive also have suffered from yeast infections prior to this issue with the cyst. I dont know if maybe thats an issue of why it was infected in the first place. Ive been taking showers regularly (even if im not washing my hair) use water to wash your crotch only or a ph balance wash. Ive purchased ph balance cleaning cloths to use at times im in a rush & cant shower. I hope I dont have to go through this ever again, yikes! Hope this helps.
