i recently went away on a trip and got sick. i started vomiting three to five times every three hours or so. sort of how you would if you had food poisioning. so i went to the er and they gave me fluids through an iv and some med. that i had a bad reaction to through the iv. then they gave me an antibiotic and told me that they think i have food poisioning or gastrialtestitus sp. so i went home and i kept feeling sick for about a week or so. no vomiting, just feeling nausious. so i went to the doctor and i tested positave for strep and they told me i have tonsalitus. sp. so the doctor gave me two shots, one was an anti inflamitory and the other was an antibiotic. i went home and the next day i felt great until about midnight. then i started feeling really sick again. and the next day i started taking the antibiotic my doctor perscribed. i thought it gave me a yeast infection. i had itching and a yellowish discharge. then the second day on antibiotics it started to burn when i pee and when i pass a stool and i felt irritation in my vagina and anus. i saw a very small amount of light red blood when i wipped. i havent been sexually active in almost a year now. i have been with onen guy but we hav eexpirmened and we did have unprotected sex. so if someone has any ideas or could help me..i would appreciate it sooooo much.

There definitely is a big chance that antibiotics gave you the yeast infection, it's one of the most common side effects that antibiotics have because when they fight against bacteria, they also disrupt the balance that is vital to keep you yeast infection free. But besides that effect, antibiotics can also cause the changes in your hormonal balance (that's why they sometimes have effects on birth control pills) which might have been responsible for spotting. It's not uncommon at all to experience spotting when your body is under stress and what you went through definitely was very stressful.
