Staph vs. Chicken Pox

:'( I need some help. My father in law, who we spend a lot of time with had MRSA staph. We thought he was clear of it, and he broke out with a rash. We were around him all day. That night, he went to the hospital and was readmitted for MRSA. I have an 11 month old daughter. Coincidentally, she just broke out in a bunch of bumps. They are tiny, and look like pimples....they are mostly around her diaper area and her legs but she has some on her chest and a few on her face as well. There is not a lot of swelling to them. I took her to the doctor, and he said it is chicken pox, but it was peculiar because they had no red around them almost. And if it is chicken pox, it is a very light, centralized case. My only concern is I now have a spider bite looking thing on my leg that has swollen tremendously in a matter of a day. I know I am probably just paranoid as this whole situation is making me go nuts...but I want to know what I should do for my daughter. I am going to the hospital to get tested tonight. But what do I look for with her? Should I get a 3rd (seeing as the chicken pox diagnosis is the 2nd) opinion? Please help. It seems like when it rains it pours, you know....I dont care about whatever happens to me as long as my little girl is okay.
Please send any advice you have or tips to distinguishing the two.
