Before I was diagnosed with a bacterial infection just a week ago... A couple weeks before that I thought I had a yeast infection and was prescribed to take monistat 7 by a pharmacist which I think I was allergic to & is the reason why my vagina is swollen. I guess cause i told her it was red, burning, itching and White thick discharges... she assume just like me a yeast infection. Then after that I was rush to the ER by my boyfriend and the doctor gave me difilucan 1x which really didnt do nothing but stop the itch and burning for a day. So my boyfriend took me to a women clinic and the doc did a papsmear, urine test and drawn my blood. Everything such as STDs & HIV came back negative and my boyfriend too. Then when the papsmear came back I was told I had a bacterial infection behind scented soap. She prescribed me some metronidazole 250mg tablets and told me to take 2 tablets by mouth 2 times a day for 7 days. & not to drink alcohol or have sex for 10 days after the meds. But my question is even tho I finish all my meds and I feel some relief with no burning or itching (but sometimes) is the infection clearing up cause everytime I wake up or get off work to take a bath I see white stuff coming out my swollen vagina hole... & even tho she told me no sex for 10 days is that gonna help the swelling to go down or what?
