i have calf cramps as well. I had first shot done by an assistant who , like you, didn't give me novacaine, just sprayed novacaine topically and shoved needle into my knee. It was HORRIBLE. I had no side effects from first shot. Second time, I picked a surgeon who did his own shots. He gave me novacaine, shot was better but now I had a serious severe reaction. I also told them I was allergic to eggs but the first doctor didn't seem concerned and second dr admitted he had not read my chart with allergy info....:(

Hi everyone: I got to the bottom of what the hell is going on with Synvisc one. It has formaldehyde in it!!!!! I called the TOP surgeons in Boston ( New England Baptist) and the top surgeon in the Bay Area in CA: They do NOT give their patients this shot due to how dangerous it is. FML I am going to CA to this surgeon and having a partial knee replacement with a prosthetic made based on a CAT scan made from my own knee. It was invented by Dr wolfgang Fitz Boston

I also had this procedure. The last injection hurt so bad. Not sure if Dr. hit something removing needle. Today, my knee is in worst condition. I tried having water remove off of the knee and the Dr. couldn't continue because of some type of colored liquid coming out my knee. Something is not right with this injection, reading too many negative comments

I had one synvisc injection . Within 24 hours my knee had doubled in size . My Ortho had to drain my knee two days later . The pain was intense and continued for weeks . I'm still dealing with pain two months later .

I've recently had a Synvics One injection in both knees. It's been 10 days and I've had 2 trips to the ER for pain and swelling. The first ER visit removed 110 cc's of fluid from one knee. Needless to say, I wasn't able to walk or bend the leg at all. And the fluid removed was green although the original injection was clear. The doctors said it was clear of any type of infection but couldn't figure out why it happened. The next visit to the ER 2 days later removed 20 cc's of fluid that was red. To date, I am experiencing excruciating pain, even while resting. Along with muscle spasms and cramps . I've called Synvisc One's hotline only to be informed that I should see a specialist. What type of Specialist?! And they, asked if I would complete there survey, when it comes in the mail. I really regret having the shots. I now walk with a limp and have more pain than before.
I've also heard that one of the ingredients is FORMALDEHYDE which is a cancer causing ingredient! This is unacceptable,Something has to be done!

Honestly these injections hurt so bad, literally crying like an child who is getting an immunization for the first time. I am on my third one which from what I read should be it, but they have me scheduled for a 5 week series which I don't understand . The center has made this experience feel like a cattle driven industry . I can not get any compassion from the PA administrating the shots and no explanation on why the pain is so bad. All I can do is go home and put my knees up. Honestly I had my son drive me because the walk from the office to the car is almost unbearable. I would love some answers, I would love for a positive result however I feel defeated that at best I will get 6mo of relief. Your not alone, the struggle is real.

I had a Synvisc injection of Sept.15th 2015. On October 10th 2015 I started having severe pain in my knee with fluid build up and swelling. I was unable to walk or put any weight on it at all. After being hospitalized, having fluid drawn off my knee and test my ortho doctor determined I had a bad reaction to the Synvisc. It is now November I am feeling much better and my knee pain is slowly improving. I will never again have another injection of Synvisc. I would not recommend this treatment.

My wife also had an allergic reaction to a steroidal injection for oa in her left knee.It has gotten inflammed & swollen in her left knee.Central Spine & Wellness in Freehold didn't disclose to her about allergic reactions to this procedure. The Dr's supposed to find the cause of the inflammation in the knee by taking a small sample out of the knee specimen.Furthermore,The injection area is also supposed to be numbed by a local anesthetic , not lidocaine spray. Not having rectal colon general surgeons who aren't specialized in injection therapy to stab & jab patients. It caused my wife excrusiating pain in her left knee tingling jabbing burning pain in her knee. Its been about a week ago my wife left knee is still in pain.I want my wife to sue this place in Freehold NJ for malpractice.Dr.Scot Paris rectal surgeon didn't follow any of the following procedures listed above.Too many injections in the knee causes deterirated tendons. We need some legal advice & counsel.

I have had the same bad reaction and now I am going to have my knee "washed" out as my orthopedic Dr calls it after the sinvisc injection missed work and working out - it's been a month. I am for a class action LS.
