I had Synvisc One injections in 2010. My left knee swelled up to the size of a large grapefruit . After a few days the whole leg from knee to ankle sweeled up. After 2-3 days was hospitalized . Eventually the rehaumatolgist used Simponi to control it. Have had to have these injections monthly since. Dangerous stuff.

I had synovial in my knees, I walked in for the injections, I went back a week later using a cane, I told the Dr. that I was having trouble bearing weight because of the pain and stiffness/swelling, he told me that this wasn't a normal reaction, but gave me my 2nd set of injections. I went back for my 3rd and final injections with the use of a walker, because I could not walk without it. He didn't give me that final injection, saying that I should be feeling some relief by now. I have not walked without this walker since !! That was 6 years ago, I would give one of my arms to be able to walk again !! I feel like I have lost everything, I have school aged, children, I can't go to any of their events because I can't get in and out of most places. I can't do stairs, and I can't do ramps. I feel like I was lied to. I don't know why it's taken me so long to look on the internet to see if anyone else has suffered like I have, and I am in shock at how many people have been through the same thing as me.

Burns, this is exactly what happened to me about 5 years ago and I too have pain in the lower patella area. I did see the doctor and the swelling and intense heat subsided after 2 weeks. I thought it was a staph infection. Since then, I have had only Orthovisc injections and experience no issues.

You might be having an autoimmune reaction. Blood tests for autoimmune conditions can shed some light. My knee is still swollen after 3 years but not nearly as much. Arthroscopic clean out helped a lot. I have some autoimmune factors.

I too am in constant pain after getting these injections. I am living in pain every single day. I am loosing my mind. I did not have these issues before the injections and now I am a cripple. I need a ramp to get out of the house. Pain medicine doesn't really help. My knees feel like cement when I try and bend them.

If anyone knows of a law firm or would like to come together for a class action lawsuit please contact me.

Thank you......
Laurie

I had the shots in both of my knees on November 21, 2016. It hurt way worse than a regular cortisone shot, but I iced and tested. Within a few days I started back to my normal running program. A week later I "hurt" my left knee. Saw the Dr. And got a cortisone shot. After about two weeks I had an mri showing fluid on my knee and bone edema. I was told to rest. After two weeks of solid rest nigh of my knees swelled to the point I can not move. Pain, hotness, inflammation, nausea and immobilized, I went to the ER. I was told to see a rhumatogogist (sp?) Needless to say I started research into this drug and believe with out a doubt, I'm having a reaction to it.
