Omg!! I thought I was the only one who is having a bad reaction from the injections. I had a set of 3 injections this year (2017). My Ortho didn't even numb the area where he was doing the injections. My knee hurts worse than it did prior to the injections I even convinced myself "eh maybe it takes time for the gel to go where it's needed" It's been over 6 months and it hurts everyday almost like a toothache but 10x worse. I'll be 45 next month, I've always had a high tolerance to pain but this really hurts. :(

My lawsuit is against the hospital and orthopedist. I still have a currogated patella (knee cap) and subchondral edema (a weeping bone). The company was shocked, as the use was contraindicated. I have suffered a jaw cyst, occlusion in my spine, which left the core to swell and snap and last year, a triple bypass for an heart valve that looked like an aneurysm.

I have done a decent job so far representing myself. The judge agreed that I have standing and the injection improperly was administered to my bloodstream. The opposing attorneys lived to the court, claiming improper service, but an affidavit from the licensed process server cleared that up.

I'm relieved to have found this site and will post an update when I have a judgment.

I had an injection 1week ago, and have been back to the dr 3 times and even to the ER, due to the incredible amount of pain and swelling! I have missed an entry week of work. I was told this was a bad allergic reaction to the injection, and over the course of the week I was given 2 steroid shots, 1 steroid to take by mouth and pain meds. I was told to ice and elevate my knee. It was so bad Friday when I went back to the dr, he drew 77 Ccs of fluid off my knee! Trying to find some relief of some type! I have to go back to work. Please help,

Fluid around your knee? I would have sent it to the lab, but the doctors don't listen. Mine came from the bone and I received nothing but injections. The last injection was improperly administered and the fluid has clogged myjaw, ankles, spine and heart.

My lawsuit is filed. You can obtain topical relief from lidocaine cream or jelly. No prescription required. The steroids would lower swelling due to inflammation. If they don't work, get back and hopefully your doc will take the risk seriously.

If you are allergic to the shots, you would have reacted immediately. Swelling and pain is your body's way to say, don't do that again. My ordeal began with the third injection.

Remember, don't burn yourself with ice; wrap it carefully. If you can, take it easy on your legs -lie down.

If something does happen, be brave. You were wise to come here. Stay in touch and if you can, seek a second opnion.

Don't let this get you down ... You won't show all the symptoms.

But you should, if you can, bring it and your knee to another doctor. Even an emergency room if you don't have one. Your doctor was obligated to explain the risks.

Allergies to feathers are common but doctor mistakes are too. Stay in touch.

I seem to BE having and giving the same negative comments !! Had the three gel injections....after each shot knees hurt like crazy....now after 6 weeks knees hurt worse then before....I still lift weights...but do basically no leg work....even after I try doing my Tai Chi workout....the next day I'm almost in tears...need to put ice packs....I'm 75 yeras old...always worked out since I was a teen...including karate for 30 yeras....obviously, I didn't assume i was going to do jumping side kicks, etc. but if I knew what pain I would be and stay in I would have never got the shots...The only verb I can use is..."the shots SUCK" !!!!!!

I have had a really bad reaction to where I cannot walk without prednisone. I couldn't find any class action suits. I'm curious did you ever sue? i'm starting to look into doing that myself

I'll let me know if you find a good attorney I'm going through some of the similar issues with the swelling and pain. I'm sure there's a bad batch floating around, because I've had injections before with no issues

I had a Synvisc One injection two weeks ago this past Friday. By Friday night I could do nothing but cry! By Saturday I couldn’t even move! My knee was 10x the size it was supposed to be and I had walk on crutches for 5 days. I had the same injection 6 months ago and had no issues at all! Went back to dr Friday and was told that they had received a bad batch and they ended up drawing 77 cc’s of fluid off of my knee and giving me a cortisone shot. The swelling is gone but the pain remains.

Do you know what was bad about the batch?
I had the same thing happen to me but the swelling returned after the cortisone wore off and has never completely gone away.

Hello,
I had the Synvisc one injection Nov 28, 2016 in Canada. I have had swelling ever since. Functionality continues to decrease. Have you made any headway on your case? Have you had any findings personally or has anything helped you health wise? Thank

You probably received a contaminated batch of the synvisc gel. I, too have experienced the same and am pursing to find answers from the manufacturer, etc. You should do the same.

I too experienced and still experiencing the same symptoms. I have been taking synvisc injections for over 5 years and never have experienced anything like this. My whole Thanksgiving holiday was hell! They gave me a cortisone shot for the swelling, which raised my blood sugar to the ceiling! I have been informed that I received an injection from a bad batch. I need answers, as you and others do. What made the batch bad and what can be done about our situations. Those injections are outrageously expensive and to not have any relief and only suffer pain, swelling, fever and having to walk on crutches, is not what I'm willing to accept. I am contacting the manufacturer for answers and resolution, perhaps we all should do the same.
