Tetanus Vaccine Allergy?

What I need to know is how to get the pertussis , diphtheria without the tetanus. I am allergic to the tetanus and need the pertussis. Anyone know how to get the separate vaccines? Thanks, Jackie RNC

I had one when I was 14 in 1976. I had a very bad reaction-difficult breathing, rash, severe pain. Not sure if the breathing was due to trauma or from the vaccine (or both). Haven't had one since. I am going to talk to allergist to see if I'm "truly" allergic to the tetanus itself or to the preservatives that was used back then. I figure if I'm truly allergic and I get sick, I'm going to die anyway so that's it.

Had a tetanus shot about 23 hours ago.  My sickness started about 3 hours ago.  It's mild but it doesn't feel good (they told me there were "no side effects"-- I am f****ing sick of dumbarse nurses--I work as a tutor at a school that has a nursing program and these new nurses are god dam* idiots; no more beating around the bush about calling them stupid because 90% of them are).  It sort of feels like I have the flu (sore all over, fever, chills, headache; although I never get headaches ever, not even from the flu).  I think I will pull through this overnight but I just have a problem with BS nurses telling people lies just to get them to shut up.  The United States is collapsing because it's full of idiots surrounded by people who think those idiots are smart.

Anyway, I would have your doctor contact the manufacturer and see if it can be broken up that way. You may have to pay more as it will probably be a special order but it's worth it. Good luck!
I had a blood test, which bruised my arm in of itself, and my immune level is sufficient for protection.

...this reaction happened to me twice 12 years apart...in bed two days with bad flu symptoms, 102 fever, and got an egg-sized hard swollen area at the injection site...i have now been told to never do a tetanus shot, again...i'm allergic to tetanus...

i had 2 cyst removed from my head and they had to give me a tetnus shot sence then i feel like c**p im dizzy to where i almost fall chest pains

I have had the same reaction all 3 times I have had a DT shot since childhood (age 18, age 28 after a bicycling & hit the gravel accident), and again at age 34 after a nasty dirty lawn mower blade chops 3 fingers accidentrs). Every time I develop a huge chicken egg to duck egg sized abcess in my deltoid at the site of the injection. The first time it grew for 3 months then finally burst on its own and drained for 2 weeks. GROSS. The second time I lanced the thing (other arm) after about 6 weeks and it drained for a good week. Last time I went to the MD who had done the reconstructive surgery on my hand from the lawnmower accident and he lanced it and packed it with medicated gauze for several days.

I am now 51 and have not had a DT booster because of the tetanus component for 17 years. My current MD keeps trying to force me to get one even knowing the reaction I suffer. My rheumatologist says NO. I am a healthcare worker and I had to go through alot of negativity trying to explain I cannot get a DTaP because of the tetanus. Back to my MD...she said "its up to you (me) to find out if there is a separate pertusis vaccine and if your insurance will pay for it". No wonder I am switching MDs!

Hi Jane, You may want to add colloidal silver to your water and spray it twice per day on the open wound. Colloidal silver is antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal. I have used it for many years, for myself, for my husband, and my dog. It also helps to regenerate your skin more quickly. I just saw a very well respected physician talking about its health benefits on Dr.Oz. We use one called "Mesosilver." It's high quality and you should be able to find it online. I found your post very interesting because my daughter got sterile abcesses every time she got a DPT shot. The first two the doctor told me to just let them heal on their own, which they eventually did. The other two were lanced and drained. The two that were lanced left small scars, 40+ years later invisible. The unlanced ones left deep scars on her thighs. It looks as if someone scooped out a teaspoon of flesh. She stepped on a rusty nail a few years ago and went to the ER. When she showed the doctor the scars, he refused to give her a tetanus shot. I now have a granddaughter and great granddaughter that I strongly suspect are having a serious neurological reaction to the DPT shot. The medical community is of no help...they refuse to even consider the connection. I even took the baby to a naturopathic doctor and I was furious when she gave us the usual line about how it is better to be protected. I will keep looking and wish everyone on this site the best with your symptoms. How very sad that you all have to deal with this.

I am 41 and had such a severe reaction as a child after my 1st shot my mother was told that I could never have the vaccine again because the reaction gets worse every time. My grandfather was shot in battle and almost died not from the gunshot wound but from the tetanus shot he was given. In do not have a shellfish allergy though. Not sure if it is hereditary-no one else has this but me and mY grandfather  

I have not had a tetanus shot since I was a child an I am now 40. My throat closed when I got mine. I am allergic my father was also allergic. tell the doctors you are allergic.

I am going on two years with, headaches, dizziness, blurred vision, tingling in my feet, ringing in my ears and sweats. I never know when it will hit but a lot of times it is when I get run down. Need to find a doctor that can rid me of the destruction this shot has caused.

I had one the new shots 2 years ago and was very sick and out of work for 10 plus days. I still have attacks from this and is has been worse this summer, I am working on a detox system using all natural products, I need some time to see if it will work but would be happy to share with you.
I have attacks where I get dizzy, numb feet, sweating, blurred and or double vision, then upset gut and the runs, Seems to happen the most when I get run down or I have had a bad bug. I have had more testing than you can imagine and no answers yet, I will be talking with an all natural doctor from Indiana in the next few days to see what he can add to my protochol to help get this c**p out of me,

In 2001 I received a flu shot and a tetanus shot on the same day in the afternoon.  By 6am the next morning I was sicker than a dog, thinking it was the flu.  Fever, HORRIBLE body aches, weakness, lasted for 3 days.  Found out recently those 2 shots should never be given together.  Nonetheless, haven't had either shot since and never will again.  Good to know that if I had that kind of reaction to a tetanus shot before then it could get worse the next time.  I don't believe in any type of vaccines whatsoever, there's too much junk in them.
