It is bad if you take them all at once, im not sure if your body will be able to handle all of the pills, and it may increase the possibility of symptoms, you should just follow the instructions

Some people do run two packs straight after one another if they want to delay their period for any reason.
It shouldn't cause you any harm but I don't think it would be a good idea to do this alot.

I agree that you should always follow the instructions but there is alot of stuff on the internet about women who do this.

the reason we have a 7 day gap with no pills isn't biological. its because women dont like to not have periods, it makes them worry about pregnancy, the first ever pills didnt have the gap week, but after women said they didnt like not having periods they introduced the withdrawal bleed.

its fine to skip your gap week and go onto the next pack of pills. it wont hurt you.

you can go on continuous pill taking every day with no gaps and there is no evidence it would harm you. doctors get some women to be on continuous pill taking for medical reasons other than birth control. if their periods are painful or heavy

@pouts: I dont think she meant take all the pills in one go, she meant taking the two packs consecutivly with no gap week.

I've taken 2 packs in a row to delay my period. A doctor has told me it's ok to do but not to do it too often.

Hey!
I was also thinking that taking two packs one straight after another wont cause any troubles. But I was wrong. At the end of the second pack(taken straight after the first one) I got terrible headaches. They continued for almost 2 weeks. The doctor advised me to quit the pill. Now its been almost 2 weeks since I quit it and I still havent got a period. I guess it is due to the fact that it was too much hormone.

For sure making a one week break is out of biological reasons. Your organism needs a break from hormones that are in the pill.I guess that various women react differently but in my case it wasnt a success.

It's fine. What do you think happens when you're pregnant? Nine months without a period. Birth control pills just mimic the hormones of pregnancy to keep your body from ovulating.

Hi Guest, same thing happened to me. I'm waiting for my period to start after taking two packs in a row. A little nervous now as it's been 4 days and I normally get mine within 3. What happened to you in the end? Did your period come eventually? Would appreciate any reassurance, I find this whole topic interesting besides.

Thanks

I often take 2 or sometimes 3 packs in a row because I travel a lot and it's easier that way.

I've never experienced any problems. Once my period didn't start until 6 days after the I finished the pill packet and it only lasted a day but the next one was fine. I used to experience extreme breast tenderness which would become worse the more packs I ran back to back but I changed the type of pill I was on and now everything is fine.

I was told by my nurse that it's fine to run packs back to back for up to 3 packs. I'm not sure how true it is but it makes my life easier and I haven't had any problems.

Hope this helps

Thanks for your info. I just took two packs in a row for the first time and I haven't got my period yet. It's only been 4 days but it's longer than normal. Between that and the breast tenderness I was worried I may be pregnant. Good to know this is typically normal.
