Hello! I have just moved to USA from Russia and I have been having troubles finding my medicine I used to use there. It is called Ursosan in Russian and used it to breakdown my gallstones. I am not medically covered yet and I have no doctor to go to. Can anybody tell me what this drug is called here in USA?

Ursosan is a ursodeoxycholic acid used for treating cholesterol gallstones. Here you can find it under the names like Destolit, Urdox, Ursofalk or Ursogal. Am not sure you will be able to get the drug without seeing a doctor first. I don’t know how it worked in Russia but here you can get it only if a doctor prescribes it to you. So, you will either have to wait to get your insurance and get the drug or pay for the doctor’s visit and get it but you will probably have to undergo tests to determine the gallstones and to confirm that it is the drug you need.
