My girlfriend is shy about the way her vagina looks. I have yet to see it. She doesn't want me to see it because she believes it looks abnormal. I can't figure out what the problem is. Is there some sort of condition that could cause a vagina to appear abnormal. I mean...I just don't know what it could be. Can there be deformities? What's the deal?! I'm confused. She really self concious in the first place so...maybe it's nothing but...it still concerns me a bit.

Sometimes girls may have large labia, these are the lips of the vagina. If you have noticed here on this forum, that question comes up a lot.

If you look in skin mags, you will see small and close to the body labia, many girls think that they have to look like these girls in the magazines. That is just not so. There is nothing wrong with a larger set of lips. It is not a deformity nor is it a birth defect, this is just how they are for a particular female.
I am not sure if this is your gf's concern, but it very well might be.
Could it be that she is just not ready for sex? She could be using this excuse to avoid going further with you.
Maybe the two of you should have a "sit down" and try to see if she is ready to move to the next level.

Yeah I was thinking it might be nothing at all and simply her self consciousness. She said something about seeing other vaginas and hers not looking like them haha. I definitely don't think it's her trying to avoid sex though. I definitely don't pressure her and we both know that we'll only get to that when she's ready. The thing is that is seems to ruin everything to do with sex for her. I just don't see what it could be. She's a perfectly normal, pretty girl. I suppose I'll find out eventually but she's pretty adamant about me not "looking at it". It just makes me kinda sad because I love her and this seems to be a major issue for her.

I don't really know for sure, unless she has some kind of birth defect. The only thing i can think of would be the larger labia. How far have you gotten with her in that department?
