I am a 31 year old single woman and i am not sexually active (last had sex in 2009 and yes we used protection). I am not on any birth control. I have no children. I do not insert anything into my vagina (like sex toys), except for tampons and my menstrual cup. Four about 3 years now, I noticed that i have a pain that feels like rawness on one spot of my vaginal wall on the left side when i insert a tampon or menstrual cup. at times the pain is totally not there, at times its more of discomfort than pain and on other times its real pain, as if i am bruised or raw. I thought the pain only happened when i am on my period, but one time i inserted a well lubricated finger into my vagina around the time of ovulation and i felt the pain. I had a pap smear test done less than a year ago and the results were fine. I went for a gynaecological examination (including scans) less than 6 months ago, and the gynaecologist said everything was ok. Does anyone know what could be causing this pain? i do suffer from frequent vaginal thrush (i come from a diabetic family).
