Hello, Jess.

I'll try to answer you point by point.

  1. Heart is normal: This means that the shape, size, and position of your heart appear normal.

  2. Pulmonary vascular is normal: The blood vessels in the lungs appear normal. This refers to both the arteries taking blood into the lungs and the veins bringing blood back to the heart.

  3. Questionable infiltrates are noted in both upper lobes: Infiltrates on an X-ray refer to areas where there appears to be some form of opacity or "whiteness" that shouldn't normally be there. This can be caused by a number of things including infections (like pneumonia), inflammation, or other lung conditions. The term "questionable" means that the finding is not definitive and may require further investigation or follow-up imaging.

  4. The lateral CP sinuses are sharp: This is a normal finding. The costophrenic (CP) angles or sinuses are the angles where the diaphragm (the primary muscle used in breathing) meets the rib cage. If these angles were "blunted" or obscured, it could indicate the presence of fluid or some other pathology.

  5. Hili are not enlarged: The hilum (singular) or hili (plural) of the lung is the area through which the blood vessels, bronchi, and nerves enter and leave the lungs. If they were enlarged, it could indicate various conditions, such as infections, tumors, or lymphadenopathy (enlarged lymph nodes). Your result shows that they appear normal.

  6. The visualized osseous structures are normal: This means that the bones that were seen in your chest X-ray, like your ribs and the upper part of your spine, appear normal.

In summary, the main point of concern from this description is the "questionable infiltrates" in the upper lobes. It would be advisable to consult with your physician for a proper interpretation in the context of your clinical symptoms and history. They might suggest further tests or imaging to get a clearer understanding of this finding.

Let us know what you have been told by them.
