This is my first visit to this website and I am finding it incredibly informative and interesting? I am self diagnosing and I feel that I have vulvodynia. The more I research, the stronger I feel that I am correct. I am about to pursue several of the suggestions, ex: change in diet and maybe prelief. I am curious as to what the Galvascon is that was mentioned in one of the posts??? She said that it really helped the burn, is it a prescription or over the counter??? Does anyone know can a urinalysis give any good info on the ph of the urine??

I can answer a couple of your questions. First, Galvascon is an antacid. It's not made to put on your vagina. It's for drinking as in acid reflux.

Second, yes, one of the properties looked at for a urinalysis is the pH of the urine.

You might be thinking about Gabapentin (brand name is Neurontin). My wife has vulvadynia and they tried it for her early after her diagnosis in 2000 because it sometimes works for different types of nerve pain. No pills worked except for opiates for her and that just treats symptoms and isn't a cure. She ended up finding the right gyno doc that listened and took action by surgery. She had a vulvectomy for the inflamed tissue and has not had an occurrence in about 15 years. Surgery is drastic, but it's what she needed after 3 years of trial and error and doctors not listening to her.
