If you are worried about your mother, then the smartest thing is to talk to her. Ask her what ever you want to know. I am sure that you have nothing to be worried about. This name sounds scary and not knowing anything about it is surely not helping you. I will try to explain it to you. Vulvodynia is a multifactoral clinical syndrome of vulvar pain, sexual dysfunction and psychological distress. Vulvar pain usually has an acute onset that can be associated with vaginitis, changes sexual partner or medical procedures on the vulva. The vulvar pain then becomes a chronic problem varying in length from months to years and its intensity can vary from mild to disabling. It can be burning, stinging, irritating or raw and most women with vulvodynia have been to many physicians either with inaccurate diagnoses or unsatisfactory treatment. Talk to you mother and ask her for an explanation, and I am sure that you will see se is ok.
