I say you should speak to your doctor and get on another medicine. I've been on Tysabri for 1 year haven't had a relapse

They are billing out my insurance company $24,300 a month and they are paying $14,000 or so. That's $168,000 a year. I wonder how long as well...

My daughter-in-law was in a wheelchair in 2007 and then went on to Tysabri infusions. She made a miraculous recovery - managed to stay working (she is a GP) bravely had 2 children (5 and 3) and is still able to walk a reasonable distance (about 200-300 m), drive, do her job part-time and look after the kids. She has deteriorated slightly compared with how she was in 2008/9 but I;m sure she would have been totally bedridden (or even dead) by now if it hadn't been for the drug. Worth every penny - especially as new stem cell treatments are starting to show great promise.

I just started on Tysabri this month and my insurance was just billed for 18,000! I am VERY thankful that this drug was approved prior to this at zero cost to me, but that is outrageous.

Do you know about the costs of the mechanics of it?

My Medicare cost has often been over $10,000 per infusion. But our bought congress passed a law so they can't barter with drug companies for lower costs, like all insurance companies do.

People DO die from the effects of MS. (A fine distinction.)

After 8yrs on Tysabri with very little side effects I strongly recommend this treatment. My biggest complaint is the cost $10,000 per month which has gone up every year I have to wonder how much more. I am on Medicare and a supplemental Insurance and have not had to pay anything but my deductible and some copay. The future of healthcare gives me nightmares for what happens next to those of us with various diseases such as this.

The only proof I need that tysabri works is the fact I used 2 other medications had numerous relapses and continuef to have new lesions active and found on my MRIs. With tysabri I have had one relapse and no new lesions. That's all the proof I need

You are wrong. People die from MS every year. That is why the life expectancy is so much shorter with people that have MS than those that do not have it.

$2184 ????? On what planet ? My Blue Advantage policy gets billed $21,000 for EACH month of Tysabri, of course insurance nevers pays out what they get billed. After insurance and clinic play their game of "this is what we will actually pay" that Tysabri comes to $7000 every month
