Besides books I was forced to read in school and the nights I read them the day before an exam or something, this doesn't happen to me much. sleep is usually the winner in said battles However I know I did this with "Into thin air" by Jon Krakower (sp?). His account of surviving the Everest tragedy of '96. Fascinating. Great book to read when the AC is broken in July too, I was freezing the entire time I read it...

Mixed reviews, eh? Huh. Well, that was the first Dan Brown book I've read - the Da Vinci Code is on my coffee table waiting for me to pick it up - and I thought it was excellent. Of course, I'm fascinated by the whole Illuminati thing, so that probably helped my opinion a bit. :)

You might also be the only person I know that has read Angels and Demons BEFORE reading The DaVinci Code.......that might have something to do with it as well.

Devil In The White City A parallel story of the man who designed the 1892 Columbian Exposition in Chicago, and the man who gained noteriety as America's first mass murderer, also in Chicago at the same time. (their paths never crossed) Two men possessed in their own ways.

I finally read "Into Thin Air" last Fall. Great book. Finished it in about 4 days.

Moneyball was also a quick read last summer. Bought it on a Friday and finished it by Sunday night, IIRC. Interesting stuff.

I've read pretty much everything by John Grisham. The most its ever taken me to devour one his books was 4 - 5 days tops.

Oh, that will take you a good year. :) I had to keep a running tab on all of the characters or I'd get lost in the story line.
