As you'll probably know procan SR is procainamid, a medicine which is used to make sure that you heart beats correctly and is an anti-arrhythmic, and can be used to treat various different heart conditions. With regards to its' category of use during pregnancy, it has been given a category C rating. This basically means that there is not enough research published or enough evidence to say whether or not it is safe to use. It isn't known if it will harm an unborn baby. If you are pregnant of planning to get pregnant you should tell your doc if you are taking the medicine - obviously it isn't always possible to know, but you should say if you find out you are.
