I have never taken birth control pills before, but now I have recently started
taking the birth control pill Yasmin. I am a Sunday Starter and have heard that
you need to wait at least a week OR a month until you can use Yasmin WITHOUT a
back-up method. On the other hand, the nurse told me that Yasmin (or any other
birth control pill) starts its protection the moment you take the first pill. Is
this true? Exactly when is the right time that you can begin using Yasmin
without a back-up method?

Furthermore, I had unprotected sex on the fourth day of using Yasmin, and he did
not withdraw before ejaculation. Is there a possibility that pregnancy could
occur because the effectiveness of the hormones in Yasmin did not work yet?

You need to be on birth contorl for a month before it works, and I think that's true for Yasmin as well. It is possible that you could get pregnant since this is the first month taking it, although that depends on your fertility at the time. Have you been suffering from any symptoms?
