Hi, I am a guy 52 years old and I suffer from depression. My doctor prescribed me Zoloft, and I am successfully using it for a month. It is working but I can’t find it in all local drug stores, and the worker say that Celexa is the same thing. Can I switch from one to another? Do they work the same way?

Yes. It is almost the same thing. Those drugs don’t stimulate the brain to create more serotonin. It holds the serotonin in your brain and keeps it longer in the body. After a while you become resistant to those drugs. I think you can switch to it (it is a similar drug that work the same way), but I think you should consult a doctor. You know, there are many drugs that are similar to other, but some people react differently to them. Only because of that you should take my advice.
