I'm 31 years old and I've never had a menstrual cycle. I went to the doctor many times and to many doctors. They all said my *Plumbing* is fine and working. But they said I have low estrogen. I took some estrogen pills a few years ago that made me spot, but the day I went off of them a week later, it went away and never returned. I've been searching for so long on what I could *label* this condition and found nothing till recently. Before I tell you here is a brief description of how I look.
I am 5 feet tall exactly, and for many many years I was 4'11. My appearance is very young, most peole guess my age at 15 or so, and nobody takes me seriously thinking that I'm a kid. I even get offered *the kids menu* at restaurants. I also matured mentally slower than everyone else my age. I still wanted to play with toys at age 18. It got less and less till it stopped, but didn't really stop till I was about 24. I don't feel my age at all. My brain and body don't keep up with what it says on my birth certificate.
Recently I found something called *Turners Syndrome*. I match some of the symptoms, but some I don't.
The symptoms I DO have:
Sensitivity to noise
Delayed growth
Short fingers and toes
Low hairline at the back of the head
Short stature
Learning disabilities, particularly with learning that involves spatial concepts or math, though intelligence is usually normal ((I could never do math. I have always been a very creative person.))
Difficulty in social situations, such as problems understanding other people's emotions or reactions ((I've always been a bit socially awkward, and I never can tell if somebody is joking or not, or if they are angry. I tend to apologize a lot.))
Failure to begin sexual changes expected during puberty ((It says due to Ovary failure, but as far as the doctors can tell my ovaries are fine.))
inability to conceive a child without fertility treatment ((I have never had a menstrual cycle, so I am sure I can't.))
Ones I do NOT have:
Wide or web-like neck
Receding or small lower jaw
High, narrow roof of the mouth (palate)
Low-set ears
Drooping eyelids
Broad chest with widely spaced nipples
Arms that turn outward at the elbows (cubitus valgus)
Fingernails turned upward
Swelling of the hands and feet, especially at birth
I'm not one to Go looking for every other thing on the net to say *OH I'VE GOT THAT!* In fact I never do that. It's just that this 31 year battle needs to end so I can finally focus on treatment. Untill I know what it is... well... I will keep searching.
