Tick bite? Lyme disease is often mistaken for a spider bite.

I have the same problem throat gets soar and lumpy feeling inside. I am thinking mine may be caused by caffeine. had allergy tests and nothing. I don't think they tested me for caffeine. May be just a bad effect of caffeine and not an allergic reaction. It is a vasoconstrictor. Some nuts also contain caffeine, I would assume nutmeg is made from them.

I am a 61 year old female with NO known allergies.  For the past 3 months, I have been using 2 different Keurig coffee makers - one with a water reservoir and the "mini" without a reservoir. For the past 3 months, my lips have been swollen, inflamed, cracked, tingle, and just feel odd. No amount of medicine or chap stick seems to help.  I finally narrowed down the culprit to the K-cups that I brew for my morning coffee.  I have a dozen varieties of K-cups, so it doesn't seem to be one particular brand or type - they all affect me.  Out of desparation to stop my reaction, I started using the refillable K-cups and my lips are perfectly fine and normal when using them.  I have used both the Keurig "MY K-CUP" and the "Solofill 3" chrome one.  I have used both my own coffee as well as opening up k-cups and pouring the coffee into my refillable k-cup.  So, it doesn't seem to be the coffee, but the little plastic K-cups (or, perhaps its the paper filter they use in them) that is causing my reaction.

I had an awful reaction to Chamomile tea last weekend! I was short of breath, as if I could not get enough oxygen. It took about 5 days for my breathing to get back to normal. Now, it seems that anytime I drink a hot liquid my throat seems to tighten, and I again have a terrible time getting enough oxygen. Its been 2 weeks, what is wrong with me!?

I have had allergies all my life and the best advice I can give you is to go to an allergist. He will conduct skin tests and tell you exactly what you are allergic to. He will suggest ways to cope...avoidance, pills, shots, etc. It is best to know exactly so you can be prepared. Life can be great when you are educated about things like this. Also, anyone can become allergic to things anytime during their lives and allergies can also change. I am 64 and have lived with allergies since I was 10. Take control and good luck!

Hi, I tried Jasmine Tea for the 1st time tonight, & shortly after trying the tea, my throat began to feel as if it is swollen, & tingling. As well as, difficulty breathing. Very unusual, since I have used lotions and such, that have Jasmine in it. Not sure if this is a reaction that is common, due to Jasmine Herbal Tea, is suppose to be good for sinus, & inflammatory! Anyone?????

I can drink many kinds of chai. As a matter of fact I make my own. However, I started realizing after a year of the symptoms that it was caused by starbucks chai. I have no other allergies. But chai from Starbucks actually has been irritating my esophagus. Almost like it is burning my esophagus even when the drink is at an appropriate temperature. I think the concentrate has too much of something in it.
