I have a rare neurologic disorder in which spasticity is the major symptom. It has progressed to the point of requiring me to use a power chair. My neurologist strongly recommended having a Baclofen Pump implanted. But after all the hype and months of waiting, the lumbar puncture test to assess my body's reaction to the drug brought absolutely no benefit. I was told the dose was apparently too low and that I will need to repeat the process with higher doses. I am willing to do this, but wonder how common such a reaction is. If I felt just as stiff after that dose, is there much likelihood the 2 higher doses available will do much? All I felt was intense tremor in my arms and legs, zero relaxation. I am wondering if others have been through this process and found enough benefit to go ahead with the implant after no results initially. I hate wasting my precious energy and ending up disappointed.
