Hello Anna,
it sounds to me like you're experiencing ovulation bleeding. Some women have this every month - just about in the middle between the two periods. It usually should not be more than just pinkish or red blood spotting that lasts for about 2-3 days. Cramping and pain are also somewhat expected to happen, but not to the point where you need a painkiller or something like that.
Ovulation bleeding can happen randomly as well, especially if you recently were sick so your immune system is weakened or if you've been under a lot of stress or emotional problems and this doesn't mean that you'll have it next month. But, if you can, visit your ob-gyn to make sure what is really going on.
Wish you all the best,
NIcole
