Dear, bleeding is very common for the first time sex but it is not unusual not to bleed. Many women bleed after their first few sex intercourses while some does never experience such thing. The bleeding thing is very personal and it differs from one woman to another. It is very possible that you will bleed during one of the next intercourses but I predict that even then you will not bleed much. But, make sure you use condoms every time you have intercourse even if you had the pill!!! To many diseases are sexually transmitted!!!

A READER NAMED "ANONYMOUS" HAS SENT AN ABUSE NOTIFICATION ASKING "TELL ME WHAT A HYMEN IS".

A hymen is a flap or layer of skin that partially covers a young women's genitalia.  In some cases, it tears before the girl becomes sexually active, but in other cases, it is tough enough that it inhibits sexual intercourse or access to the woman's internal organs.  In some cases, a doctor or nurse will snip or cut the skin, to allow it to be cleared... but the thicker the skin, the more blood vessels likely to be present.

In most cases, the is some minor blood loss when the hymen is torn or ripped. It stops after a short while.

Some women do not bleed from this.

Many cultures highly value the presence of an intact hymen when a woman marries, and so want "proof" of bleeding after the wedding night.

It's no one's business but the woman.

In today's modern society, a hymen may also be ruptured or torn through strenuous sports...horse back riding, gymnastics, dancing, biking, etc.

No matter what the cause of the rip, the slight bleeding is normally dealt with by use of a santiary pad or two.

Some women believe that the use of tampons will tear the hymen, or should not be used until after the hymen is torn.

Some women do  not have much/any hymen at all, as a normal presentation.  There is a great deal of variation.

If you'd like a very crude comparison, one might think of the hymen as a "Seal of Sanitation" strip that hotel maids used to leave securing the toilet seat to prove they had cleaned and sanitized a toilet for the customer.

In this way, the hymen might represent a "seal" that no one had had any sexual relations with thie women yet, and that the girl is "untouched."
