I lost my virginity about 14 hours ago. I know that it is normal to feel pain and bleed after losing your virginity, but is it normal to bleed a lot? And when I say a lot I mean more than I would bleed on my period. The water in the toilet turned completely red and blood wouldn't stop dripping. It's not dripping like that anymore, but I am still bleeding very lightly and I had to put a pad on after the intercourse. And before anyone asks, no it couldn't be my period cause it's not even near that time of the month. Also, right after intercourse there were two big blotches of blood on the blanket that we were laying on. I really am unsure if it's normal to bleed like this, because I heard that if you bleed at all it shouldn't be very much blood. Could someone possibly clear things up for me and let me know if this is normal? And if it's not normal then what's going on?

The amout of bleeding varies from woman to woman.

It may be that you normally bleed heavily, perhaps during your period or even when you cut yourself.

Heavy bleeding could also be because your hymen was thick. The thicker the hymen, the greater the blood supply. Your heavy bleeding doesn't seem to be prolonged, so does not seem to be dangerous, and I think the bleeding should stop within 24 hours.

However, if bleeding continues more than 48 hours, I suggest you consult your medical practitioner.
