I'm so relieved. I thought I was pregnant because I had those exact symptoms so I took 3 tests and they all came back negative. My periods are normal and I now started with birth control

This just happened to me. I lost my virginity a little under two weeks ago. After a day or two my breasts started to feel tender and swollen (something that I normally feel a week before my period comes) I found it very strange since I was not expecting my period yet so I totally feared that I might be pregnant. We used condoms and he still pulled out every time. I think it's the paranoia and hysteria in losing the virginity that make us hormonal. I have my period now and it was such a relief when it came. Just always use protection and don't rely on just pulling out. Stay safe and be smart!

Either this thread is filled with the unluckiest girls in the world, and we're all pregnant after our first time... Or it isnt a myth that a woman's body change after sex.

I had my first time two days ago and my breast started to swell. I looked in the mirror and my breast looks bigger. I'm worried about pregnancy.

I think you are just overthinking it. If you had a protected sex, you should be fine. If anything, just take a pregnancy test just to be sure and to put your mind at ease.

Honestly, my first thought after reading this isn't that your body has really physically changed after losing your virginity, but that you're either in love with the person you had sex with or are just more self conscious about your body, knowing that someone will be seeing it naked! Some people also feel like sex is a rite of passage in a way, and they might feel more mature and womanly or manly after losing their virginity.

Honestly, if you'd said that physical changes after sex included bumps on the genitals and stuff like that, I'd say, obviously you have an STD. But your body can't grow bigger breasts just because of having sex.

I have actually heard that body changes after having sexual intercourse for the first time is quite common in women, specifically bigger and firmer breasts as well as more sensitive nipples, flushed skin, and more water retention. I am quite sure that this has to do both with the emotional and physical aspect of having sex with someone.

Sex should be a pleasurable experience, and when you do it, your body is awoken in a new way, awoken to new physical experiences. Oxytocin, the boding hormone, is also released. So it is not sure weird that this would result in physical changes, I think!

And emotionally, you might feel like being close to your new partner again, and develop more of a feeling of connectedness, whether you want to or not!

The body is an amazing thing! This is so cool when you think about it. Your body is doing all kinds of evolutionarily sane things.

Hey,

All I can say is that from personal experience, no matter how long ago it is now (and it is very long ago indeed), I do not recall noticing any physical changes after losing my virginity, at 16 with the person who later became my husband. What I did notice were emotional changes. I remember walking around the school thinking that everyone would be able to tell that I was no longer a virgin! I also felt more grown up, same as when I first got my period. And though my body didn't change that I was aware of, the way I looked at it did. From then on, it wasn't just my body. It was my body that I chose to share with another person.

So I did wonder - what does he think of this? I still do. I take care to shave my legs and armpits, I take care to shower regularly, I take care to look good, and yes, I even take more care of my weight than I probably would, were I single. It is not for him, as such, but for me because I know I am not the only one who sees my whole body.

Hey, how are you now? I'm sorry I am seeing this post only now. Will you update us to let us know how you got along? FYI after unprotected sex it's best to take action right away. Plan B is good up to 72 hours after unprotected intercourse I think. This is not something you want to play with though, get on the birth control pill or another regular form of contraception as soon as you can if you're going to be sexually active now. Depo Provera, Nexplanon are good options. Condoms have a very high success rate as well but only if you use them every single time.
