A cavernous hemangioma is a blood vessel malformation in the brain. These vessels leak blood into the brain slowly and it can cause the symptoms you describe. It can also cause seizures. There isn't little room into the brain and even a small amount of bleeding can cause problems. They are benign.
Sometimes drugs can help reduce the symptoms. Surgery may be required however.
Your fiance' needs to see a neurologist. This is NOT something for the ER to handle. At a minimum he needs an MRI.
Often, when there are NEW symptoms, it indicates a new round of bleeding.
Schedule that appointment.
