I was hit in the balls fairly hard several days ago and now I have a large bruise on my scrotum. It seems to me to have gotten darker over the last day or so. There isnt any real pain but Im wondering if I should go to the doctor about this or if its just like any other bruise and will heal itself?

Although you don’t have any other problems related to the trauma, I would still have it checked, just to make sure that any complications didn’t occur.

If nothing was “broken” from the blow, a person would usually experience the pain, swelling and bruising from broken blood vessels.

Now, the problem is that trauma could cause additional problems like formation of hematocele-blood collection around testicles or even testicular rupture (which would probably end up with cutting blood flow and testicular shrinkage). If hematocele occurred, it may also cause infection due to all that blood collection.

I wouldn’t want to give you any advise, it is up to you, I am just saying that I would have it checked for the possible complications and ease of mind.

As for the bruise, try applying some cabbage leaves or fresh parsley to help get rid of the bruise sooner.

Man, that had to hurt. I had that happen to me once too, sorry. I get bruises a lot from playing sports, mostly soccer. I use a product called BruiseMD and I love it. It works for one and the ingredients are all natural so for me it's a win win. Here is the link to the product site, I'm sure this can help you: http://www.bruisemd.com
