Okay guys, I'm new on here. 18 years old... In my scrotum on the right above the testicle (not attached to it) is a bulb-type object that seems to "inflate" when I'm awake, and appears to deflate when sleeping (based on it inflating once awake) I do not know what this is, and today am experiencing pain within my scrotum, although that could be linked to the massive stomach ache I have had over the last two days. Could this "bulb" be my bladder? Or is it something much more potentially harmful? please let me know ASAP with ANY info you can offer to help :-D

when did you notice this? also have you done any heavy lifting latley? when you lay down does the bulb go away and when you sit or stand does it appear?

I do not remember when I noticed it exactly, it was a while ago. Throughout the past 4 years I did a LOT of heavy lifting, and sometimes it goes away when I lay down, sometimes it stays

No I have not been checked for hernia, right side of scrotum, at the "top" the bulb goes down into the scrotum

it sounds like you may have an inguinal hernia. inguinal hernias occure when part of your abdominal muscles weaken and a loop of your intestine gets pushed down through your inguinal canal into your scrotum. this can occur with heavy lifting. i would have it checked out. they can be repaired. normally they dont pose much of a threat but sometimes blood flow can get cut off causing the intestine to necrode and rot and cause a massive potentialy life threatening infection. this also causes a lot of pain.

So I know this is coming with some delay, but I just found this page because I have this problem too. The thing is that I've head inguinal hernia as a child and now I have this bulb. Could it be that when I got surgery for hernia what had been pushed in my scrotum stayed there even though the hernia got repaired?
Thanks in advance
