Hello, fellows. My close relative has been experiencing some problems with his immune system. I don’t know the details, but I have also heard that he has nocardiosis as well. I would really appreciate if someone could tell me if a combined therapy can help with this. Thank you in advance.

Hello. Nocardiosis is usually related to weakened immune system. Treatment last very long. It can last at least for 6 months. That is why someone must be patient. Usually, only sulfonamides are used here. However, if this kind of therapy does not help, some other antibiotics can be introduced. I don’t know if this is your relative’s case. I hope I’ve helped a little. Bye!

Hi, there. I would agree with the previous post. Sulfonamides are indeed the medications of choice. However, for subcutaneous abscesses some doctors recommend monocycline. If there is lung or brain abscess, medication therapy is not enough. In that case, a surgical drainage must be performed. Of course, antibiotics here go along. I hope your relative’s case is not so serious. Good luck to him! Bye!
