I have a recurring hemorrhoid, usual symptoms-I went to the doc before and a change in diet sorted it out unfortunately I (stupidly) didnt stick to the diet and its come back.

Anyway I went to the toilet the other day and it was so brutally painful that I couldnt sleep that night- with that it mind Ive been havent been able to go since (3 days) and have become constipated. Im back on the high fibre/fluid diet but obviously that takes a while to kick in. In the short term to get me over this constipation I was thinking of having a colonic irrigation but Ive seen some sites say its ok for constipation relief while having a hemorrhoid and some say to wait til the hemorrhoid is gone.

Is it just a comfort thing? ie a colonic with a hemorrhoid is uncomfortable but not unhealthy or should it be avoided until the hemorrhoid is gone for serious health reasons?

(If its just a comfort thing then I might do it as I cant imagine it being any more uncomfortable then trying to pass it after it sitting there for 3 days)

Did u have this colonics done? I have the same problem as you. I had an open colonic done today for my first time ever and for the same reason as you.. Constipation. Colonics did not bother my hemorrhoids at all and in fact it released the presure so the feel WAY better... I would do it if i was you. ( If you haven't already)

I realize it’s been over a year since this post but I thought I’d leave a reply anyways for anyone searching now. I had severely painful hemorrhoids for 3 months while dealing with some heavy stress and it got worse and worse. I’ve always dealt with hemorrhoids my entire life even with a healthy lifestyle so I’m pretty sure it’s genetic. I went to the gastro doc and they said there wasn’t much to do about internal hemorrhoids except a rubber band surgery. My diet was good, I exercise daily…so they said to give it 6 weeks to see if it went away on it’s own. It didn’t and I was desperate so I tried a colonic cleanse. They have different types of catheters and one of them is better suited for those that active hemorrhoids. It helped already after the first one but I decided to the “deep cleanse” which is 3 colonics in 2 weeks. It’s anecdotal obviously and depends on your lifestyle but it 100% helped me readjust and start over in a sense. I can now say I go to the bathroom without pain. If you’re desperate and aren’t ready for surgery, I’d suggest it along with some lifestyle changes.
