I have been taking anywhere from 3,200 - 4,800 mg of ibuprofen a day, for almost a year now, due to a bad root canal and crown that didn’t fit right. I recently just had them extract the tooth all together, but it’s still been a painful recovery. These last two days I have cut the dosage down to 1,600 - 2,400 mg since the pain is lessening, but now I’m experiencing extreme brain fog, can’t focus, anxiety and just feel icky all over.

Hey, people say it is non-addictive, but I started taking it six years ago and thought it was no problem, I was in pain, had very bad periods and was sick a lot and suffered from other problems. I became addicted and was taking two every day, one in the morning one in the evening. I tried to stop on and off for years but couldn't. My wake-up call was when I had bad cramping and spewing. I was overdosing from taking so many, it is NOT un-addictive, if you take it enough you will get hooked. I couldn't swallow it so I began crushing and snorting it, now my nose is like a cocaine addict's. Please stop before it's too late. I have been on and off for years with it and mixed it with alcohol on numerous occasions, which made me very sick, but, did I learn? No because I was an addict. I am finally 4 months clean, but, I have gone through, peeling skin, itchiness, diarrhoea, hot and cold flushes and major mood swings. Please stop yourself or others before it's as bad as my addiction! This has been a major struggle for me, I have been suicidal etc. I turned to alcohol to help me give up, because I was scared of going to a doctor or rehab. Ibuprofen wrecked six years of my life.

Please stop, I was hooked at 11 and the after affects aren't good, Please stop. I thought it was good and was hooked for six years! I only gave up recently and withdrawals are terrible. I look so old after using for this long and withdrawing has caused my skin to peel, itchiness, diarrhoea, bad cramping, I can't eat properly, major mood swings and hot and cold flushes. Please listen to me.

Advil effects the kidneys and Tylenol effects the liver. They are not the same thing. Advil is a anti-inflammatory and Tylenol is a pain reliever.

After reading these posts! As a 4 month user of Ibuprofen of 800mg. 3 times a day, I am having all these symptoms after not taking one today. Body Aches, headaches (which I hardly ever have headaches ) sick feeling to my stomach, tiredness, fatigue, many of my joints ache. So I cannot agree with those propagating that IBRPROFEN IS NOT ADDITIVE, BECAUSE IT IS, AND THESE ARE THE SYMPTOMS AFTER YOU GO COLD TURKEY. I will endure my pain, (after being hit from behind in our vehicle) i will not take another Ibuprofen.

This statement is true. It will cause liver damage if not taken wisely, as directed or needed.

Ibuprofen is the absolute worst thing you can take for stomach pain, it will make it worse. If you are in the medical field, you should definitely know that. It could really negatively affect your patients.
