i lost my virginity in the summer time to my boyfriend, it caused my period to be really late after that first time. my periods since then have been normal. we broke up for 3 months and during that time i had not had sex or messed around at all. we recently got back together and had sex 4 times in one weekend one week before i was due for my period. i had a terrible UTI 2 days afterwhich involved blood and tissue in my urine. between the mixture of not having sex for a long time and having a really bad UTI , could that make my period come later than normal? or am i pregnant ?

Hi Lwlkrsn07! As far as I know a sexual activity doesn't affect your period, of course if the pregnancy is not involved. You can always by a pregnancy test and solve that question, even though, it's not that easy to get pregnant as we often think. As you can read on Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urinary_tract_infection#Sexual_activity" In young sexually active women, sex is the cause of 75 - 90% of bladder infections, with the risk of infection related to the frequency of sex." So the simplest solution to all your problems would be a condom. Anyway you should definitely look for a medical advice in the nearest hospital if there is involved blood and tissue in your urine. I suffer from UTI almost every time I practice unprotected sex with my boyfriend, some woman support it better, guess the two of us are not in that group.
