Clear/brown/white discharge for over a year, embarrassed to tell my mum

hi, it sounds like you have have some sort of infection, i would go see your gp because u may need antibiotics and obviously its not very nice for you so best get it sorte, sorry i couldnt help much, do some research on bacterial vaginosis :)
