Hi, I would like to learn something more about the spider nevus. My wife has gotten one on her left arm and we are both concerned about it. Even though everyone tells us that it is almost a common thing for the pregnancy (she is in a 4th month) we are not assured in that. What are the common places on the body for the spider nevus, is that really a benign condition?

Yes it is. I mean, in this case, when it is caused by the high level of the estrogen hormone, there is nothing to worry about; it will pass when the pregnancy is over. Still, in some cases (not your wife’s!), spider nevus occurs because of the some underlying condition, but like I said, that is nothing to be concerned about right now. As for the locations, neck and extremities are mostly affected.
