Hi with my bulged disc, I have lost my sense of, taste, smell and could not sneeze or cough, The swelling has gone down, and I have all senses now. I just getting head aces. It has been 5 months now. I will not take any shots , in my mind they do not work,( just a band-aid ). I have been down this road before with lower back, but this is a lot different then lower back. With the help of pills and keep moving the sun will shine again. Really. bye

Yes they help but they have really messed up my immune system. They have lasted me almost 2-4 weeks. It definitely took a lot of the pain down to a bareable amount but now I'm constantly getting sick or catching contagious skin issues. Before all of the shots I hadn't been sick in 3 years. I'm super health continuous as well. Anyhow every person is different and unfortunately I happen to be super sensitive to the steroid injections. Also they can put you to sleep when they do it so no reason to be afraid just wanted to bring an extra awareness to steroid shots.

I like your story. Had all the same experiences with 3 lower back (L3-S1) surgeries, with fusion and threaded bone dowel (L5-S1). The second surgery was fixing the poor location of the bone dowel, which encroached the L5 nerve root and had to be deburred. Felt great for 5 years and everything came back. The 3rd surgery they removed the instrumentation, which didn't help at all. My back/pain Dr. (psysiatrist) said he thinks calcium has built back up in the bone dowel swath that was taken out, and the irritation doesn't allow me to stand over 30 min. Catscan doesn't show pressure on the nerve root so other surgeons won't touch the area. Your right in saying to not let them intimidate you, but these Dr.'s and surgeons all need each other for support and therefore aren't truthful. I'm getting sick and tired of all this political correctness and no just telling the truth. My neck C6 and C7 were fused also, which almost 20 years later has caused this inability to not be able to sleep without waking up with a bad headache. My neck range of motion is bad, and can only turn my head barely to the left even after waking up and the inflammation goes down. Trying to find a good neurologist. Might try a shot. Can't get an MRI without deflection from the fusion hardware, so am thinking about a Milo(dye) catscan, which is what they do for my lower back, but the dye is dangerous in the head area. So getting up in the morning with these headaches is rough, let alone not being able to sleep with the head in a certain position.

I have a herniated disk at c3 and c4 and I KNOW It has been causing my daily headaches, which get in the way of my daily living and work. I got an epidural shot in my neck, I also have 3 bulging disks, and so far it has helped about 50%. I still have the headaches but not as intense. I also see an improvement with the pain I was feeling in my neck and shoulders.

I wake up every morning with severe pain in my neck and terrible headaches. It's like clock work. I have had many Mri and injections nothing helps. Why does it only happen in the am. Plus I have arthritis in my neck and spondylosis.

I had a neurostimulator placed at the bottom of my skull to relieve the headaches.
It has helped me soooo much. I hope you find relief.

To everyone here, I had bulging cervical discs that have turned into herniated discs after going to doctors. I went to a physiatrist, chiropractor, physical therapy, & massage therapy. They only relieved symptoms and the PT made me worse and is what made them become herniated. I finally found a doc that is fixing me that relieving symptoms. I was getting "migraines" for about 10yrs after 2 whiplash accidents, and after the PT it turned into nerve tingles and burning mouth & general weakness. I couldn't walk or sit for very long & was bedridden for most of the year. After 2 months of treatment most of my symptoms are gone and am still being treated til I'm back to being as much to my pre- accident self as possible. I highly suggest seeing a chiropractic neurologist (not a regular chiropractor). It takes some time to get fixed, but so worth it if you want to get back to normal the holistic way. Just don't expect it to be an overnight success.

I have the same thing with my spine.
Mine is curved the opposite way it should be normally.
I have headaches all day everyday with times it’s almost intolerable.
MRI’s never show anything wrong but at times my spine clicks and makes it worse.
Praying for relief for everyone with bad headaches.

I wake up with a headache in the upper to the middle back of head. I have cervical disks, herniated and bulging 5-6 & 6-7. Are those two connected?
