I am 28 years old and am becoming increasing debilitated by abdominal pain. I am a student and do not have insurance so I have little access to health care. A little over a year ago I noticed a dull pain that increased when pressure was applied to my lower left rib cage. This pain has continued and has grown stronger, my lower left rib cage is sensitive to pressure, any pressure increases the pain. This pain is accompanied by lower back pain that is constant but very dull. The pain increases greatly before my period. I was prescribe Mobid and it does help with the lower back pain. Recently a sharp, tender to pressure pain about one inch to to the left side of my navel has began. I have a low grade fever since the pain beside my navel began and I almost never get fevers. I also have vomiting but it seems to be connected to waking up with an odd tickle in my throat and I tend to vomit up mucus. This only happens if I am laying going my back and often wakes me up in the night. It happens after two hours of sleep. I also have little to no feeling in my toes or finger tips. I am quite miserable and on arthritis medication at 28. I also have a metallic taste in my mouth when the pain is at its worst.
I have gone to the E.R. once after the pain started and was treated very badly. I live in a low-income area and they seemed to think I was drug-seeking. I went to the E.R. because the pain in my lower back woke me up. I went to the bathroom and a clot of blood about the size of my fist came out of my rectum, and no stool. I was scared. The E.R. doctors thought I was on my period and just confused about where the blood came from. I was not confused, they said it was a hemroid, but gave me a vaginal examine as well as a rectal examine. they discharged me with the diagnosis of a UTI?
My hepatic vein has an abnormal connection with a vien that runs from my intestine to my liver. I was born with it. I think the vein is Porta something it is connected with, I don't think that is related, but I am not a doctor. I don't want to go to the hospital again just to be treated like I am an addict because my neighbors are addicts, The past two morning the pain has been so bad. Eating sugar seems to make it more tolerable, but only for a little bit. Any ideas on what I can do? The constant aches and pains are really begining to effect my ability to do daily activities. To put it lightly this sucks.
