This has happened to me before, and more than once. I have had my period constant for at least a month if not longer. I notice this has happened when I am under a great deal of stress. Its scary. I don't know why it happens. It sucks but I've learned to live with it. Sorry I don't have the answers, just wanted you to know your not alone.

Believe it or not I often get my period for 6 months straight with just a few days off here and there! And I also won't get my period for 6 months at a time it varies! I am a heavy woman and I don't know about your personal weight but heavy women often times do have irregular periods according to my doctor! I still would recommend that you do see your doctor just to ensure it isn't something serious! Just rest assured that you are not alone in the world!

OH. . .You know girls? You are really not alone. I am a 21 year old lady who is experiencing the same thing you do. The reason why I saw this conversation, is that I am looking for answers to my question. I still have my period for 3 weeks. This is the first time that I encountered a long period of menstrual flow. Very Scary. . .
A month ago I went to my OB, its because I am delayed for more than 7 months. My menstrual cycle is irregular due to my weight (I am overweight), the type of food I eat, and stress according to my OB. My diagnosis is poly cystic. She advised me to take meds, for me to bleed and She also mentioned that during my 1st day of my period I should start taking pills. Now, I still need to go back to my OB to know what's happening because I am afraid that I am bleeding abnormally.

I'm 25 and have been on my period for three months straight with only a couple days of freedom in between. My PCP advised that I have a pelvic ultrasound after my regular pelvic exam. In the end my ultrasound showed nothing and I'm still on my period. :-|

I have the same problem and just made a Dr.s appt because of it.  I have never had a regular cycle (28 day? pshhh) but this has been the longest amount of time I've been on mine.  It's unfortunate there are not more medical answers given online about this problem.

I'm only 17 years old and I've been going through the same thing. I just started college but I have had my period for almost four months straight and only a few days off occasionally. I heard that birth control pills will help since it's usually a hormonal thing but I'm not sure what to do besides that. :/

Hey everyone, I am 22 years old, and have been dealing with this problem for almost 18 months non-stop! I have gone through pelvic ultrasounds, I have had three pap smears, nothing abnormal. I also have been given hormones, and 4 types of birth control, none of which have stopped it. Not only has it put a damper on my sex life, but due to the cost of cups (I refuse to use tampons and pads and have since switched to the cup) it is also putting a damper on costs associated, not to mention the many many doctors bills. I JUST WANT IT TO END! Please someone help me :(
