I am so glad saw this site too. I have had period 5 times heavier than normal couple of weeks after having strong steroid I shoulder. And then heavy bleeding 1 week after period stopped. completely different to normal regular light cycle. Am also worried it wont stop and getting anaemic from blood loss. Anyone know how long it affect periods for? The specialist never warned of this. I think people should be advised as it really scares you to lose so much blood and not know why.

As a female, I have dealt with heavy bleeding, in which hormones had to be given by my female doctor as a side effect to cortisone. The problem is the pain is unreal, life is compromised on a daily basis, you cannot take meds by mouth every day, gotta protect your organs, so I thought as you cortisone was the best option. I bled over 2 months, and my periods are not right yet. Docs say, oh that's worn off by now, no buddy, I know my body, it altered my hormones, I can tell!!! Cortisone is helpful but problems happen, Esp with autoimmune diseases, as myself. It stunk!

You are right. I had my Keliods removed on 9/25/15. And my period has been 1 1/2 month late. I'm going to wait to the end of this month to see if it comes back to normal. I have taken 4 pregencies test all negative. So I will just praying. And go to the Doc.

I recently got a cortisone shot on my back for psoriasis. A week later, I started bleeding for 2 weeks and still bleeding. It is definitely a side effect to the shot. This thread makes me feel like I'm not alone. Thank you for all the replies!

Over the outer nsaid like ibuprofen will help with the bleeding as they interfere with the effects from the steroids. Our LG works as long as you take them and not a long term solution but may buy so.e relief and is a net hod used by gps to treat menorrhagia. Is connected to prostaglandin which steroids mess with I think.

I suspected, had 2 cortisone shots 2 months apart for eczema. The first shot resulted in a period a week late. The shot last month resulted in a period a week early and still spotting, breast tenderness and pms the 8th day. My period usually shows up every month like clockwork, and lasts 4 days.
