This is happening to me now.... I got 2 shots with a pudendal nerve block in my backside. My period was supposed to come a week later. It never did. It has been 6 weeks now and no period. And, I am moody and off. Saw my primary care doctor and she said that steroids can mess with your adrenals and cause things to go out of balance. You just have to wait it out according to her. uggh

I just found this thread as I am sitting in my OB/GYN's office waiting to hear the worst. I am already relived but what can. E done to make this stop? I had a Kenalog shot a month ago and thought nothing of it until I had my regular period and then it lightened up but NEVER stopped. I am now on day 19. Help?!

thank you ladies my mind was going crazy..
I had a crystal cortisone injection in my neck and back, first day period..it lasted its normal 5 days with normal flow then 2 days later i had light bleeding again and its pain as if i am pmsing.

Feb 7th 2014 i had a cortisone shot in shoulder. With kenalog. Hours later my face burned and looked sunburned. It swelled. I got a moon face and it stung for days. Called the doc and asked if i was having a reaction to it and he scoffed at that. Noooo you cant be allergic to what we give you to stop allergic reactions. Ur fine.

Period starts march 3rd.
By day 14 i was bleeding so much i could not hold super tampon and biggest absorbant pad for 30 mins without leaking thru pants.

Terrified i called ob and got in.
We talked about what has changed.. any procedures or new meds. I mentioned the shot and he got up to get ultrasound machine... said. Betcha a ten its a functional cyst on yoir ovary. 100% from the shot.

He was right.
I had to go on a heavy hormone to stop bleeding and shrink cyst. Felt like plan b but 3 times worse. Nausea vommiting..omg. my period lasted over 30 days. Ob checked for cyst 6 weeks later and it was gone.

Orthopedic doc still scoffed... never heard of that before... naw. It never happens.
(His office aides said ;it happens, he knows it, his daughter just went thru the same..)

2017. Work comp wants me to have another (why do surgery to fix prob when you can shoot me full of c**p and give me pain meds and send me to chiropractor)
Day after injection... face and neck red and stinging.. not yet swelled from what i can see... but whats next? More 30 day hemmorahge period?

I did make sure it was not kenalog, but i think i will have a repeat of the above misery.

I have taken two shots from the dermatology for psoriasis. My last one was In march and my cycle was on then so now my period has been on for 18 days as of April 21 up to now it stopped for about two days but it was spotting then. Will the cycle ever get back to normal?

I've had epidural cortisone injections in my spine twice for a herniated disc. Both times, my period went berserk and I ended up having to have a DNC to stop my period. Neither the Orthopaedic Dr nor my Gynecologist would admit that there was a correlation. I just recently received a cortisone injection in my knee and just started my period, 2 weeks early. There is DEFINITELY a correlation between the two.

Wow, sounds familiar I hadn't had a period in 8 yrs, 3 weeks ago I got a cortisone steroid injection in my hip and 2 wk ago I started bleeding it's been a wk now and counting

I had a cortisone injection on my knee to relieve osteoarthritic pain, and although I'm menopausal, I started having what seemed like menstrual bleeding, a week after. I could only link this condition to the injection, so decided to google it. I discovered that other women have had this side effect as well. I had no idea that vaginal bleeding was a side effect of a cortisone injection. I'll be seeing my doctor today. Thank You for your feedback.

This is happening to me also same scenario 10 years post-menopausal, I had these shots years ago and started spotting and none of my doctor had ever heard of that. I started back with the shots 2 weeks ago and the spotting started again I mentioned it to the Doctor and he said he had never heard of that either, I am so glad to read your post and know I am not crazy.

I have also, 3 weeks of spotting and it all started after I received the steroid shot in
My hip. How long will this last? I'm about to lose my mind.. and have done searches on this, and so many have experienced the same thing
