I am a 65 year old woman and have been menopausal for years also.  I had a cortisone shot to my knee at Kaiser last week.  It worked wonderfully on the knee. But I started cramping and suddenly had bad hot flashes once again. A couple days later I started bleeding but didn't feel it was vaginal because it only came with urination. I've had kidney stones in the past and thought it might be related because I was having discomfort in the left kidney area and left side belly. Called my doctor and have done a urinalysis and ultrasound. Both are ok he says but he wants me to have further testing. I asked him if the shot could have had anything to do with this because of the hot flashes but he said no. I was so scared for days. I inserted a tampon to make sure if the source of the blood was vaginal or not and it is. Then I found this site and was immediately released from all my fears when I read all of these stories. I told my doctor I now want to just wait awhile before I go thru more expensive uncomfortable tests. I already had a d&c and cervical biopsy about 6 months ago and don't want to go thru that again. Thank you for having this site because it has calmed my fears. I believe I will just wait it out and hope that the bleeding stops.
