Me Toooo, they are real bad sometimes, and you're right the Dr. should know and be aware of meds to help control this. The first one, and this last one or third one seems to be the worst.

I had a cortisone shot 2 days ago in my left arm for my arthritis. Since then, I have had an almost constant headache and have been really warm. I can't sleep at night because I get so warm.
I've read alot of other story's like mine
Has it been shown medically that these are side effects?

It happened to me too, and I've seen a bunch of other postings online saying the same. Breath holding didn't stop them. Tums didn't help. So out of desperation I tried a trick recommended by several people of poking a Q-Tip into my nose as far as I could and twiddling it around. And it worked. Obviously not a permanent cure but if you're like me and will do ANYTHING for relief, give it a try!

I had my injections done Thursday at around 2pm. It is now Saturday morning and I still have them. It is consistent and when I think I've better they come back. It usually stops for bout 5 mins or so but come back alot harder. Very deep hiccups that just leave your neck and chest sore.

I just had an injection of Cortisone steroid in my knee. Like clock work, I was up at 3:30am and again at 4:30am(for good) with hiccups. I'll check into some relief remedies. This is my 3rd shot in 5 years. Never been an issue before.

Wow! Great to read all these stories. I had a cortisone injection for my lower back pain yesterday (26 hours ago). Bam! I woke up this morning with hiccups which I haven't had for over 35 years (now guess my age :) ). I googled for remedies, followed suggestions, hiccups went away. After breakfast, and as soon as I arrived in the office, hiccups started again. Called my doctor's office, they told me to come. Soon as I got to my car to leave, hiccups stops. I called to rescheduled the appointment for after work.

Then, I googled "back pain injection and hiccups," surprisingly I found many articles and researches that correlate hiccups with post injections. And, then I found this forum.

I am encouraged that nothing serious is going on based on the stories and experiences that people shared here. I will see what happened after lunch today but I am praying it never come back again.

Hiccups are annoying. We have open office cubicles and everyone 4 - 6 cubes away could hear my ugly sound from hiccups.

Thanks to everyone that shared here.

I received an epidural steroid injection in my neck two days ago. My hiccups started the next day and have gotten worse. I was hopeful that by the second day (today) they would stop, but they were just as bad if not worse. Even now as I am typing I have them about every 5-10 seconds. I think I may have to call in sick tomorrow to work because they are so bad I cannot talk to people or do my job. Hopefully they go away, I have been researching and I think it may have something to do with gird or my digestive system being thrown out of balance, but it is very strange. No one seems to know what causes them or how to get rid of them.

also just to add to that. I have found that antacids with smithecone do seem to work, but eating just seems to make it worse. It stops for a while, but then they come back. Yesterday I read if you have take a teasponful of vinegar, or they said you can eat or chew on a pickle because pickle juice has vinegar. That did work somewhat.

This is the strangest thing I have ever experienced. They were so bad at work tonight everyone could hear me and kept asking me what was going on.

I too received a spinal cortizone injection yesterday in my neck area of the spine. I came home ate and went to bed. Then the chronic hiccups started and then horrible acid reflux. I have been awake all night and anxiety is high not allowing for sleep. Almost to the point of panic attacks which I have never experienced! Has anyone found a solution to this issue?

I had to look this up because I got epidural shot at 9am today and at around midnight got severe hiccups it's not 241 am next day and I'm still suffering double hiccups at times. Very scary. Hiccups started after eating something very light.

Here’s your 5 second cure for the hiccups. Method tired and worked every time. Recently had a cortisone shot for a hip injury. Put about 1 oz of water in a drinking water bottle, lean your head back, and pour the water into your nostril, as it enters you will began to choke slightly, like the feeling of water going down the wrong tube. Once you cough this will somehow reset your system and they go away every time. Good luck.
