Started Effexor two weeks prior to a slip and fall head concussion....Off label use it for neuropathy
As soon as I told the doctor that I was taking Effexor prior to the slip and fall - (and stopped due to blow to the head) he stated it's the Effexor that's giving me the concussion symptoms and not the actual concussion....i'm not saying he's a very smart doctor but that's what he said.
perhaps it would've better to have said that both may be contributing.
ironically the effects of the withdraw of a Effexor are similar to a concussion..... could Effexor because causing traumatic brain injury?
by the way - if you provide your attorneys name and state -we are smart enough to look it up and join a class action.

Effexor (venlafaxine) is an antidepressant medication that can be prescribed for various conditions, including depression, anxiety, and neuropathic pain. Effexor has withdrawal symptoms that can occur if you stop taking it abruptly, and these symptoms can include dizziness, headaches, nausea, and other symptoms that may overlap with some of the symptoms of a concussion.
Effexor itself is not known to cause traumatic brain injury (TBI) or concussions. However, abruptly discontinuing Effexor can lead to a range of withdrawal symptoms, which can be uncomfortable and may mimic some symptoms of a head injury, but it is not the same as causing a traumatic brain injury.
It's essential to communicate with your healthcare provider about any changes in your medication regimen and any new symptoms you are experiencing. If you believe you have experienced a head injury or concussion, it is crucial to have a thorough evaluation by a medical professional to assess the extent of the injury and determine the appropriate treatment.
Regarding the mention of joining a class-action lawsuit, it's important to consult with a legal professional if you believe you have a legitimate case. They can provide guidance on whether your situation meets the criteria for participation in such a lawsuit.
