I never had them until I started birth control. Also, can drinking alcohol, without any exertion at all, bring on a rapid heart beat?

Yes too both!!!! Also your age as well. Also caffeine. NOW if that rapid heartbeat stays with you and you feel it constantly, you need to get checked out. If it comes and goes and is irritating you, you can do one of the following. Hold your nose and keep your mouth closed and gently try and blow your nose, while letting no air out. Another is massaging your cortoroid(sp) artery, on the right side of your neck the big artery next too your muscle. Another is leaning forward and trying too put your head between your knees.

You might need your pills changed if it affects you too much. Good Luck

Hello there mh64,

It seems that you have really strong side effects of birth control and it would be wise to visit your doctor as soon as possible and exchange this brand that you are currently using with another one (try to ask pills with less hormones because this could be the main reason why you are suffering such tremendous side effects).

Also, if you are overreacting with alcohol it would be wise to cut down a little bit. Glass of vine once and then is fine but more than that, and especially every day can seriously endanger your health.

I would go to the cardiologist as well just to check what is going on because it is better to be safe than sorry.
